A natural paradise
The Josone Park located in Varadero, is an old neoclassical mansion built in 1942. Its construction dates back to the 1930s, when the director of the Arechavala rum factory, José Fermín Iturrioz, bought land and built his home.
The extensive property was the private residence of the Iturrioz family until 1963. Subsequently, the owners emigrated from the country and the property became the new Cuban revolutionary government.
Finally, in 1989 the headquarters went to the Ministry of Tourism and they started various actions to restore the park, so it is now a space open to the public.
What does the park offer?
In this wonderful park you will find numerous trees such as flamboyans, bamboos, flowers and ornamental plants. Also, you can enjoy pleasant boat rides, taste the traditional guarapo, a sugar cane juice, etc.
